Welcome to the auspicious year of 2020. Why do I call it auspicious? I believe 2020 will be a happy and prosperous year because it brings new opportunities to become a better and more successful person. Growth and prosperity, however, won’t happen on its own. You have to work at it, and the best way to work is not harder but work smarter. To be smart you have to have a plan. You must set goals. Success comes only to those who are intentional.
A wise man once said, “Aim at nothing, and you’ll hit it every time.” Another wise man said, “Fail to plan, and you plan to fail.” You need to take some time to plan and set goals. Maybe one of your goals is to look for a new job or start saving money for retirement. One of my goals for 2020 is to bring my storytelling into the world of video by starting a YouTube channel. Whatever your plans for the new year, don’t forget the words of King Solomon, one of the wisest men who ever lived. Solomon says, “Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed (Proverbs 16:3).” Just think how much more successful you can be with God on your side.
Let me suggest that you ask God to guide you as you make plans for this year. Write them down on a piece of paper. Dream big. Be an idealist and let God infuse your dreams with his power of positivity. Have faith in what God can do in and through you as you allow him to guide you into a future of positive possibilities.
